Job Description

Westland are seeking a Weighbridge Operative to play a key role in the safe and efficient running of our site operations.

In this fast-paced role, you will be responsible for controlling vehicle access to site, ensuring compliance with Health & Safety procedures, accurately recording vehicle weights and load details, and maintaining clear and accurate site records. You'll work closely with the dispatch, production, and logistics teams to support the smooth flow of goods in and out of the site.

What you'll do

Manage all vehicle movements through the weighbridge, ensuring all vehicles entering and leaving site are correctly recorded and compliant with site procedures and Health & Safety requirements. Carry out accurate weighing of incoming and outgoing vehicles, checking documentation against delivery and dispatch instructions. Complete quality and compliance checks on vehicle loads to ensure accuracy with order and product specifications. Update production and sales systems (e.g. QC Professional Production Records 2025) with correct dispatch volumes for Pro IBCs, bales, and bulk loads. Maintain accurate daily weighbridge and KPI records, ensuring these are shared with relevant departments as required. Record and monitor contractor and visitor sign-ins, ensuring compliance with site access procedures and notifying site contacts on arrival. Receive and log deliveries, ensuring packages are signed for and relevant departments are informed for collection. Report any discrepancies, stock shortages, or weighing errors promptly to the Site Supervisor or relevant department.

Essential Criteria:

Proven experience in a similar role within logistics, distribution, warehousing, or a similar operational environment. Strong understanding of Health & Safety procedures. Good knowledge of goods in/out processes and quality control standards. Excellent attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation. Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel) and confidence using logistics or production systems. Good communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with drivers, contractors, and internal teams. Reliable, organised, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility to work across shifts/rotas in line with site operational requirements.
