As the power generation market continues to grow, Rapid Power Generation is poised to scale significantly. We are now expanding our fabrication capability and are seeking an experienced welder fabricator to join the team.
Role Overview
This role will involve the fabrication and welding of high quality steel components used in generator systems, from frames, skids, and panel stands, to bespoke 20 meter long acoustic enclosures. The successful candidate will play an active role in influencing product evolution, manufacturing best practice, and overall build quality, working closely with engineering and production teams. Experience fabricating acoustic enclosures and associated equipment for generators would be a strong advantage.
Key Responsibilities
Fabrication and welding of steel and sheet metal components to engineering drawings
MIG welding to high standard
Assembly of frames, base skids, panels, and generator related components
Support fabrication of acoustic enclosures
Maintain high standards of quality, safety, and workmanship
Essential Skills & Experience
NVQ Level 2/3 in welding & fabrication (or equivalent experience)
Proven experience as a welder fabricator
Ability to read and work from fabrication drawings
Strong attention to detail and pride in quality work
Experience working in an industrial or engineering environment
Ability to undertake manual handling tasks
Desirable
Experience with generator equipment or acoustic enclosures
Additional welding qualifications or fabrication certifications
Overhead crane experience
