:
Specific Duties:Lead by example and display a positive attitude at all times;
Able to weld components in flat, vertical and overhead positions;
Examine work pieces for any defects and report any issues to the Supervisor or Quality Control Officer immediately;
Measure work pieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications;
Ensure to layout, position, align and secure parts/assemblies prior to assembly using straightedges, combination squares etc;
Report all non-conforming material to the Supervisor or Quality Control Officer immediately, label and quarantine non-conforming material in line with Quality control procedures;
Ensure to adhere to all Quality Control procedures
Take responsibility for control of quality, inspection and if necessary, rework of your own work and that of your team members.
Complete work to a high standard of quality, decision of the Quality Control Officer on acceptable standards is final
Ensure assigned work is understood prior to commencing-should you have any queries please speak to the Supervisor;
Ensure to complete assigned work within the time allocated for the job and according to all standards/specifications;
Complete any required paperwork;
Positively react to any production changes throughout the day;
Identify and report all cost saving opportunities or improvement ideas; monitor and try to reduce waste; promote lean manufacturing principles;
Ensure to adhere to all guidelines as outlined in the Company's toolbox talks;
Ensure your work area is kept clean and tidy and that all walkways are clear;
Report any potential hazards/risks to the Supervisor immediately;
Maintain a safe working environment at all times-report any risks or concerns to the Supervisor immediately;
Comply with all Company rules and procedures in relation to health and safety;
Maintain good communication and team work with other employees;
Highlight and discuss any issues with the Supervisor as they arise;
Ensure a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues;
Coach and mentor new starts during their first 12 weeks of employment (where appropriate);
Ensure a methodical and pro-active approach to work tasks;
Any other associated duties.
Health & Safety:Ensure to wear the correct PPE at all times;
Promote and maintain health and safety standards in accordance with Company rules and regulations;
Report all near misses to H&S Officer who will complete a the necessary form;
Ensure all accidents/incidents/injuries are reported to H&S Officer on the day they occur;
Ensure all fire exits/walkways are kept clear,
Any other associated duties.
Environmental:Highlight any potential environmental issues to the Supervisor;
Participate with environmental initiatives/projects/objectives where relevant;
Any other associated duties.
