Key Responsibilities
Perform TIG, MIG and/or Arc welding on steel, stainless steel and possibly aluminium components.
Fabricate and assemble structural steel items, bespoke metalwork, components and assemblies according to drawings and specifications.
Read and interpret engineering drawings and fabrication plans.
Carry out site welding and fabrication works as needed (mobile team).
Carry out vehicle, agricultural and construction-equipment welding/repair tasks if required.
Use workshop equipment (for example MAG drilling, plasma cutting, etc) safely and effectively.
Carry out quality checks on finished work, ensuring the welds meet required standards (appearance, strength, tolerances).
Assist in maintenance of the workshop, tools and welding equipment; keep work area clean and organised.
Work in compliance with health & safety regulations, welding procedures, and company quality standards.
Requirements / Skills
Proven experience as a welder/fabricator (mobile and/or workshop environment).
Competent in TIG, MIG and/or Arc welding processes.
Experience working with structural steel, stainless steel and fabrication of bespoke metalwork.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, fabrication plans and specifications.
Good hand-eye coordination, physical stamina, and ability to handle large/heavy components.
Mobile fabrication: Able to travel to sites, work outdoors, sometimes at height or in confined spaces.
Good time management, reliability and professionalism.
Strong focus on quality and finishing details.
Valid welding certificates (CSWIP, BS EN, or equivalent) beneficial but not always mandatory if highly experienced.
Valid driver's licence preferred (for travel to onsite work).
Flexible to respond to occasional emergency call-outs or non-standard hours (if required).
