Formed in 1999, BMI Trailers is the longest established manufacturer and supplier in the UK and Ireland for waste ejector trailers. We pride ourselves on being the leading supplier of Walking Floor trailers within the UK.

We are seeking a skilled Fabricator/Welder to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and experience with MIG welding. This role involves fabricating and assembling metal components to create high-quality products, ensuring precision and adherence to safety standards.

Duties

Operate power tools and hand tools to fabricate metal components according to specifications. Perform MIG welding techniques to assemble parts and structures. Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints to understand project requirements. Conduct quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet industry standards. Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to health and safety regulations. Collaborate with team members to improve processes and enhance product quality. Utilise basic maths skills for measurements and calculations during fabrication tasks. Work with sheet metal, ensuring precise cuts and welds for optimal assembly.

Requirements

Proven experience in fabrication and welding, with a strong understanding of mechanical principles ( 3 years experience minimum preferred). Proficiency in using power tools, hand tools, and welding equipment. Familiarity with MIG welding techniques is essential; additional welding certifications are advantageous. Previous experience in Aluminium welding would be advantageous. Ability to read technical drawings and blueprints accurately. Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work. Basic maths skills for measurements and calculations in fabrication processes. Excellent problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
You may be required to assist in other departments as required on an ad hoc basis.
