We are looking for an experienced

Welder Fabricator

to join a well-established

scenery and set construction company

working within a film studio environment.

This is a varied role offering something different every day -- from creative builds to technical metalwork. You'll be responsible for interpreting technical drawings, fabricating set elements, and working independently in both a workshop and occasionally on-site within the studios.

What you'll be doing:

MIG welding of steel components for scenery and set construction Reading and interpreting detailed fabrication drawings Working autonomously on varied projects with minimal supervision Adapting to different welding and fabrication needs depending on the project Ensuring high standards of safety and finish in line with studio requirements Occasionally liaising with other departments (carpentry, scenic, rigging etc.) to ensure smooth workflow
Requirements:

Proven welding & fabrication experience (MIG essential; TIG or other processes beneficial) Ability to work independently and solve problems on the go Comfortable interpreting technical drawings High attention to detail and finish Must be eligible for

studio security clearance

(valid ID required)
Desirable:

Experience in the film/TV, events, theatre, or exhibition industries Flexibility to assist across departments if needed Own tools beneficial but not essential
Job Type: Freelance

Pay: 20.00-22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Schedule:

Monday to Friday
