Cruickshanks TDC Division

are specialists in the manufacture of electrical protection and control cubicles, and an opportunity has arisen within the division for the following role:

WELDER/FABRICATOR

You will join our multi/skilled team working on a varied range of jobs within our workshops, for external clients, and for internal projects and product lines.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Reading and interpretation of engineering drawings. Sheetmetal/Light Fabrication of control panels and bespoke cubicles. Preparation and setup of materials for welding. Welding to required specification, following our Weld Procedures. Ensuring material specifications and traceability requirements are adhered to. Use of Pressbrakes, Mig welding plants and other metal preparation equipment. Ensuring all processed parts are efficiently produced and conform to the related drawings and specification. Housekeeping of work area, ensuring work practices are maintained. Assist in training and mentoring of trainees/apprentices. Continuously striving to improve productivity and work methods. All duties to be completed in accordance with Health & Safety regulations.

The Candidate:

The ideal candidate would be time served as a welder/fabricator, although consideration may be given to semi-skilled individuals with applicable experience and the right aptitude to progress. Key skills/characteristics should include:

Time served or experienced Welder/Fabricator with Sheetmetal knowledge. Mig welding especially must be to a high standard. Experience with Mild Steel, Stainless Steel and Aluminium highly beneficial. Experience in reading Engineering / Technical Drawings and making to specification essential. Must be comfortable working in a busy environment and be able to use your initiative and plan in advance. Self-motivated with a good work ethic and attention to detail. Enthusiastic, reliable, hardworking and conscientious. Flexibility will be required to cover particularly busy periods. Good communication skills. Full (UK) Driving License beneficial.
This is a permanent, full time role based at our

Cruickshanks Division facility at Kirkton Avenue, Dyce, Aberdeen.
