Job Overview


We are seeking a skilled Fabricator/Welder to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating and welding metal components efficiently and working to the correct tolerances, ensuring high-quality standards are met. The position involves working with various metals (mainly mid steel), power tools, hand tools, and assembly processes to produce durable metal structures and components. Our work consists of a broad range of steel fabrication projects, providing plenty of variety and constant new challenges.

Responsibilities



Perform MAG/MMA, and TIG welding on a variety of metals Fabricate metal components according to technical drawings and specifications Use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment safely and effectively Assist in the assembly of fabricated parts into finished products Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics Maintain a clean and organised workspace Conduct quality checks to ensure all work meets the required standards Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines and quality targets

Requirements



Qualified to a minimum NVQ Level 3 or served a recognised apprenticeship Full valid driving license Proven experience in MAG/MMA/TIG welding and general fabrication work Knowledge of BS EN welding standards and following weld procedures Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment Strong understanding of fabrication processes involving plate work - shaping and forming metal and assembly of plates and structural steel Confidently use oxyfuel, plasma cutters, radial arm drills, Mag drills, hand tools. pattern development knowledge with the ability to perform basic math calculations related to measurements and dimensions Experience working with various materials such as steel, aluminium, or other metals is desirable Ability to read technical drawings accurately and interpret specifications effectively Have good communication skills with everybody ranging from customers, management, supervisors and colleagues Be prepared to work in industrial site conditions and in the workshop Have willingness to travel if needed and always maintain good time keeping Work well in a team, independently and on your own initiative

Any extra qualifications from forklift truck licence, IPAF certification, confined space, CSCS card or CCNSG safety passport, overhead crane licence, working at height, harness training/ fall arrest training, slinging and lifting/ banks-man certification. Any of these qualifications are an advantage, they are not a requirement as the training can be provided when needed.

Overtime rates are applied once the standard 38 hours have been worked.



Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 20.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 38 per week
