CSWIP 3.1 Welding Inspector
to join our on-site team in Newcastle.
Role Overview
The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting welding inspections, ensuring all work meets project specifications, industry codes, and regulatory standards. This is a hands-on site-based role requiring strong technical knowledge and a proactive approach.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out visual weld inspections in line with CSWIP 3.1 requirements
Review and interpret WPS, engineering drawings, and project specifications
Monitor welding activities to ensure compliance with quality and safety procedures
Identify non-conformances and support corrective action processes
Produce clear and accurate inspection reports and maintain QA documentation
Collaborate with welders, supervisors, and project management teams
Ensure adherence to company standards, client requirements, and regulatory frameworks
Qualifications & Requirements
Required:
Valid
CSWIP 3.1 Welding Inspector
certification
Previous on-site experience in a similar inspection role
Good understanding of welding methods, materials, and NDT fundamentals
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
Strong communication and reporting skills
Right to work in the UK
Preferred:
Additional NDT qualifications (MPI, DPI, UT, etc.)
Experience within EPC, fabrication, offshore, industrial, or heavy-engineering environments
