Hours: 08:30 - 16:30, Monday - Friday - 38 weeks



Landmarks is an independent specialist day college for young people with learning disabilities and difficulties. The college offers a wide range of programmes that are tailored to each individual's needs.

Landmarks operates from several sites across; Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and South Yorkshire, with our main site located in Eckington, S21 4EF.

Landmarks has several satellite provisions in Rotherham, Nottingham city Centre and a "real-life" hospitality and catering facility in Rainworth, Mansfield. These environments enable us to provide a range of personal and vocational training opportunities including:

Music Horticulture Animal Care Hospitality & Catering Work Experience Travel Training Art Employability Personal and Social Development Performing Arts Functional Skills Conservation Enterprise Duke of Edinburgh Supported Internships Creative Media Community Access

Our staff are required to work on a range of different sites, including; college campuses, employer's premises or communities local to your learners home - therefore willingness to travel is essential. There may be a requirement to transport learners in your own car, insurance implications are reimbursed. Mileage and expenses are provided for travel during the working day.



Main Responsibilities:



Your responsibilities will include, but are not restricted to:

To work with college managers on the early identification of families needing support and take appropriate action including home visits To support learners with a wide range of issues, including bereavement, family breakdown, mental health difficulties and other issues with a view to support reengagement with their programme. To record, monitor and report on learner attendance, intervene and support when required. Support includes home welfare visit. To record, monitor and report on the impact of the interventions in place for learners at risk including their attendance and behaviour. To work with individual learners where appropriate when issues from home are affecting or likely to affect their performance / attendance / behaviour at college. To promote mental health and well-being across all sites, keeping information up to date including noticeboards. To manage the appointments for external services to meet with learners and families e.g. external occupational and/or speech therapists; counsellors; advocates; social workers. To promote the support available to families and other professionals. To take part in relevant training, professional development and supervision. To foster and promote a culture of positive learner engagement Engender strong lines of communication between the college and family The ability to work as part of a team and participate actively in meetings and training and contribute to the development of Home/College liaison in college. To deliver relevant staff training Attend internal and external meetings, briefings and other forums as required Carry out the duties and requirements of the post in compliance with Landmarks Equal Opportunities, Health & Safety, Child and Vulnerable Adult Protection and other policies and procedures.
