Welfare Maintenance Engineer & General Operative

. This is a great role for someone looking for a hands-on role working on multiple tasks each day. You will play a pivotal role at the centre of our day-to-day work providing important support to our customers and the 4M team. What we can definitely guarantee is that no two days will ever be the same!

In a nutshell, we hire and sell a wide range of portable buildings including welfare units, offices, canteens, stores and gatehouses; and we also have a self-storage division used by both domestic and business customers.

Our company is part of the Grocott Group, owned by local business people, David and Linda Grocott, the former owners of storage and distribution company Grocontinental of Whitchurch. Working hours are

8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday

(40 hours per week), excluding breaks (with required flexibility to support business needs).

What will the role involve?



Responsibility for intake of deliveries and associated processes. Maintaining and policing the towable welfare of the fleet (including 4M vehicles, oil pumps, machinery, engines, static welfare) ensuring it remains fit-for-purpose and maintained to a high standard. This will typically include spraying, welding, part changing, upkeep etc. Carrying out domestic cleaning duties in relation to towable welfare and 4M fleet vehicles, ensuring vehicles are maintained to a high standard and that they remain ready for use. Planning and undertaking preventative and scheduled mechanical maintenance and engineering, including the review of damages and defects, diagnosis of fault(s) and the carrying out of repairs where required. Responding to damages, defects and repairs in a timely manner. Delivering and collecting 4M towable units in line with orders and delivery dates. Completing relevant delivery paperwork in full for internal and external record keeping and accounts Ensuring the site and facilities are always kept to a high standard, ensuring a safe working environment and full adherence to Health &Safety requirements. Assisting with office administration, ensuring systems are updated accordingly.

Higher education qualification in Mechanical Engineering Previous experience within a similar role Efficient and well-organised The ability to work well under pressure and in-line with deadlines Proactive and flexible approach towards tasks - adaptable when required The ability to work of own initiative, as well as work independently Good verbal communication skills Effective problem-solving skills, self-motivated and solution focused Ability to identify and drive forward areas of continuous improvement
Up to 29,000 (Depending on skills and experience)
