About the Role:



As a Wellbeing Officer you will primarily work to support and advocate on behalf of learners. To be a link between the learner, college community and external stakeholders such as parents and support organisations. The role directly interfaces with learners in times of need and crisis. You will work across all 4 campus on specific Wellbeing initiatives as directed by the
Head of Wellbeing & Safeguarding.

Staff employed at Coleg y Cymoedd will have responsibility for the safeguarding and for the promoting the welfare of learner.
Undertake such other duties as may be reasonably required by the College, either at your principal place of work or other College premises, commensurate with the grade and responsibilities of the role.

Job Overview


We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Wellbeing Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in promoting health and wellbeing within the organisation, focusing on educating employees about public health initiatives and providing support for their overall wellbeing. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology and the ability to communicate effectively through public speaking.

Duties



Develop and implement wellbeing programmes that address the needs of employees. Educate staff on various health topics, including nutrition, mental health, and physical activity. Conduct workshops and seminars to promote public health awareness. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure accurate dissemination of medical information. Provide individual support to employees seeking guidance on health-related issues. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of wellbeing initiatives and make necessary adjustments. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of public health trends and best practices.

Experience



Previous experience in a health-related field, such as nursing or public health, is highly desirable. Strong understanding of medical terminology to effectively communicate with staff and healthcare providers. Proven experience in public speaking and delivering educational content to diverse audiences. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated. Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on building relationships across all levels of the organisation.
