The Service:



The Apricot Centre is a well established service including a Wellbeing Service for Children and Families, Adult Education provision and a sustainable bio diverse farm, working in an integrative manner to 'cultivate sustainability in land, lives and livelihoods'.

The Apricot Centre Wellbeing Service delivers therapeutic services for children, young people and families, working with schools and other partnership agencies including providing an Adoption Support Service to looked after and adopted children, their carers, and their families, informed by theories of attachment, trauma and child development. The Wellbeing Service also provides Mentoring services to schools and private individuals and counselling for adults within the local and farming community.

Hours: 22.5 hours per week (part-time)

, 3 days per week.

40,000 pro rata

Role Overview:



As the Service Manager, the post holder will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of a high quality therapeutic service delivered on behalf of the Apricot Centre (CIC) Wellbeing Service. To provide effective professional support for the self-employed practitioners in Devon, East Anglia, including mentors and counsellors. To ensure a high standard of consistent care and service in accordance with legislation, central government guidance, regulations and standards, and the policies and procedures of The Apricot Centre Wellbeing Service. As a Community Interest Company, the Apricot Centre Wellbeing Service is funded on a case by case basis and therefore a key part of this role will also be to negotiate and set up contracts with our commissioners (Local Authorities and the Adoption Support fund) Schools, and private individuals.

Essential Skills



Training and Qualifications:

Degree (or similar) Level Professional Qualification in a registered therapy - HCPC, UKCP, BACP.

Additional/post graduate qualifications, training and CPD demonstrating a breadth of learning relevant to working with children, their families, and communities.

Evidence of continuing professional development as recommended by the relevant professional body and BABCP.

Level 3 Safeguarding Training (within last 3 years)

Experience:



Must have extensive experience of having received personal therapy.

Significant experience of providing therapies in a clinical setting with young people and families.

Proven track record of providing clinical and professional leadership within clinical and/or therapeutic services (NHS and/or other relevant health or social services).

Experience of caseload management and of providing Supervision and Appraisals.

Facilitation of Personal Development Planning in others.

Experience in working with electronic data recording systems within an established health or social care setting.

Proven ability to develop, implement and monitor robust administrative processes and procedures in line with good practice

Skills and Abilities:



Good organisational and time management skills.

Able to work using own initiative, prioritise, and manage own workload.

Capable of working under pressure to meet deadlines and dealing with complex information

and multiple priorities at once.

Highly developed verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Ability to manage complex cases, analyse complex information and to offer sound clinical guidance, advice, and make effective decisions.

Ability to work both as part of a team and create effective team working.

Specialist and sound assessment skills including risk assessment and management.

Computer literate. Good IT skills including the use of Microsoft Office - Excel, Word, and Outlook

Knowledge and understanding:



Must understand the importance of good record keeping, risk assessment, safeguarding recording, review reports, and other report writing in delivering a high quality and effective service.

Knowledge and understanding of ethical challenges as may arise in therapeutic practice or working within systems.

Ability to reflect, recognise impact upon others and receive feedback. A willingness and ability to learn new skills and adapt to change.

Able to demonstrate extensive knowledge of issues related to equality, diversity, and anti- discriminatory practice

Desirable Skills:



Training and Qualifications:

Supervision Training and/or Certification.

Experience:



Knowledge/ Experience of working within a social enterprise and or third sector, and service/ business models.

A working knowledge and/or experience of contracting and commissioning, and negotiating and costing up interventions
