We are seeking an enthusiastic Wells Engineer to join our growing team in Aberdeen. Our well engineering department is experiencing a period of rapid growth as we strive to meet increasing demand for gas capture and storage wells, the development of associated platforms and the decommissioning of oil and gas well infrastructure.

By joining our team, you will play a pivotal role in helping us develop solutions to support energy decarbonisation and contribute to the reduction, avoidance, and capture of carbon emissions. In addition, your expertise will help us support oil and gas well engineering projects ensuring energy security while promoting responsible energy practices.

As part of our team, you will collaborate with Senior Engineers and Project Sponsors on downhole tubular design and analysis using WellCat and other well engineering software tools. You will also undertake the engineering of all aspects of subsea and surface well systems and associated construction equipment using our range of combined simulation (CSim) tools. Once you are settled in, you will quickly get the opportunity to lead projects, engage with clients and ensure delivery of work that meets our rigorous standards.

This role is primarily based in the UK serving clients across the European, African, and Middle Eastern markets but we anticipate occasional travel to other 2H offices to support their well engineering projects.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Execute, oversee and review analysis and design work for dynamic structures, interpreting results to form sound engineering judgements and recommendations in Drilling/Completion/Intervention activities, CCUS or HPHT
  • Undertake downhole well engineering activities of offshore platform or subsea wells
  • Work with Landmark\'s WellCat software and associated software (WellPlan/StressCheck/COMPASS)
  • May work in other simulation and programming tools (e.g. OLGA, Python, Flexcom, Orcaflex, ANSYS)
  • Confidently and effectively communicate technical results and conclusions to other members of the team and clients through meetings, presentations and written reports
  • Potential to support business development activities as experience evolves
  • Support or lead bid preparation in response to client enquiries depending on level of experience
  • Prepare customer proposals, costing and bids
Requirements
  • Minimum 2:1 Masters degree in relevant engineering degree (mechanical, civil, petroleum, chemical)
  • Minimum 2 years\' experience in the offshore oil and gas or decarbonisation field
  • Proven experience working with Landmark\'s WellCat software and associated software
  • Ability and enthusiasm to perform tasks and achieve results with a high degree of accuracy and precision
  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team, with a strong sense of personal accountability and self-motivation
  • Excellent communicator, in both written and verbal forms, with highly effective inter-personal skills supported by good attention to detail
  • Knowledge of relevant codes and standards
  • Desire and ambition to achieve both technical and personal excellence by committing to personal and professional development
