Job Description
Are you passionate about science, agriculture, and working with purpose, both in the lab and out in the field? Our clients on the lookout for a dedicated Purification Specialist to support their cutting-edge wheat breeding programme.What You'll Be Doing:
- Assist in the preparation and submission of plant material for official trials
- Jointly complete field observations of purification material at NL-2, NL-1, and NL entries
- Shared responsibility for the harvest of single plant material
- Assist in preparation of purification material for drilling
- Assist in the running of the electrophoresis laboratory
- Execute sample preparation for various laboratory tests
- Assist with various other breeding tasks as required by the Head of Wheat Breeding
- A-Level in Science (or equivalent)
- Experience in a similar field (seeds, trials, lab work etc)
- High attention to detail
- Experienced in agriculture, horticulture, or laboratory settings
- Detail-driven with strong organisational and computer skills
- Comfortable working outdoors and in a lab environment
- A good communicator and thrives in a collaborative team
- Able to remain calm and focused when working under pressure
- Safety-conscious and values-focused
- Interested in all details of the purification system
- Committed to performing to a high standard
