Job Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a driver/warehouse operative within a small, well-established business in Kirkstall, Leeds. Established in 1977, J and S Foods have served the catering industry as a food wholesaler across the UK. Due to a very low staff turnover, it is a rare opportunity for the right candidate to flourish in a close-knit family business.

In this dual role, you will be responsible for managing warehouse operations while also performing delivery duties. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and the ability to handle heavy lifting. This position is crucial in ensuring that our products are delivered efficiently and that our warehouse remains organised and functional.

Duties

Manage the receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods within the warehouse Operate warehouse equipment safely and efficiently Perform deliveries to various locations as required Load and unload goods from lorries, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage Maintain an organised and clean work environment in the warehouse Communicate effectively with team members and customers regarding delivery schedules and product availability Assist with inventory management, including stock checks and reporting discrepancies Operate vehicles safely and efficiently, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations. Conduct pre-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure safety and mechanical soundness. Ability to work under your own initiative in a fast paced environment

Skills

Previous experience as a wholesale delivery driver is highly advantageous Valid, Clean driving licence with experience in commercial driving preferred Familiarity with warehouse operations and procedures Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently Strong communication skills to interact with team members and customers effectively A proactive approach to problem-solving and attention to detail Located within the Leeds area Good self-management skills with the ability to manage your own time and delivery schedule
This is a full-time, permanent role with salary to be negotiated relevant to experience.

Hours are 5AM- Finish (Typically between 12:30PM-2:30PM, early finishes and later starts during school holidays)
