Our Private Client team is growing, and we are now seeking an experienced solicitor to handle both contentious and non-contentious wills and probate matters.

Role Overview

We are looking for a skilled Private Client Solicitor to join our team, with solid experience in wills, trusts, probate, estate administration, and contentious probate matters. The ideal candidate will be confident in managing their own caseload, providing high-quality legal advice, and maintaining excellent client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

Drafting wills, trusts, and lasting powers of attorney. Advising on inheritance tax planning and estate structuring. Handling probate applications and estate administration. Dealing with contested wills, inheritance disputes, and other contentious probate cases. Representing clients in negotiations and court proceedings relating to contentious probate matters. Providing clear, practical, and client-focused legal advice. Managing a varied caseload from instruction to completion with minimal supervision. Building and maintaining strong client relationships. Ensuring compliance with SRA standards, firm policies, and confidentiality requirements.

Skills & Requirements

Qualified Solicitor with 1-3 years PQE in Private Client law (wills, probate, and contentious probate). Strong technical knowledge of inheritance law, probate process, and trusts. Experience handling contentious probate disputes is essential. Excellent communication, negotiation, and advocacy skills. Ability to manage a full caseload independently while delivering high-quality client care. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail. Proficient in Microsoft Office and case management systems (experience with LEAP desirable).
