Role Overview:
As a Paralegal in the Wills, Trusts, and Probate department, you will play a key role in supporting our team with a range of legal services, focusing on wills, trusts, and Lasting Powers of Attorney matters. You will be responsible for taking instructions from clients for the preparation of wills, trusts, and Lasting Powers of Attorney, and assisting with the administration of estates.
Key Responsibilities:
Taking client instructions for the preparation of Wills, Trusts, and Lasting Powers of Attorney, ensuring all necessary information is gathered and recorded accurately.
Drafting Wills, Trusts, and Lasting Powers of Attorney, under the supervision of the Head of Department.
Assisting with the administration of estates, including liaising with clients, identifying assets, and obtaining probate.
Conducting legal research and keeping up-to-date with changes in legislation affecting Wills, Trusts, and Probate.
Preparing and managing documentation, correspondence, and files related to Wills, Trusts, and Probate matters.
Maintaining confidentiality and managing sensitive client information with the utmost care and professionalism.
Essential Requirements:
Previous experience working as a Paralegal, Legal Assistant, or in a similar role within Wills, Trusts, and Probate.
Experience in taking instructions from clients regarding Wills, Trusts, and Lasting Powers of Attorney.
Strong understanding of Wills, Trusts, and Lasting Powers of Attorney.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact confidently with clients.
High level of attention to detail and organisational skills.
Ability to work efficiently and manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
Strong IT skills and proficiency with legal software and Microsoft Office.
Desirable:
A relevant legal qualification such as a Law Degree or Paralegal Diploma.
Experience in dealing with probate matters.
