three Technical Trainees
to join our engineering teams behind the
2026 Wimbledon Championships
- one of the most complex and high-profile live broadcasts in the world.
This hands-on placement offers an unparalleled chance to experience live broadcast engineering in action, working alongside industry-leading professionals across multiple technical disciplines.
We are inviting applications for placements lasting up to
15 days
, either during the
Rig phase
(

Who We're Looking For
We welcome applicants
18 years and older
, ideally with a background or keen interest in engineering, broadcast technology, or media production systems. You must have
Right to Work in the UK
.
You'll be a confident communicator, a proactive problem-solver, and a team player with an enthusiasm for Outside Broadcasting (OB) and live event production.
No prior broadcast experience is required - just curiosity, technical aptitude, and the drive to learn.
Applicants with previous study in a relevant field would be preferred.
What You'll Learn
Successful candidates will gain invaluable real-world experience in the engineering and operations that power a live global sports broadcast. You'll work closely with experts including:
Senior Engineers - Discover how complex broadcast systems are designed, deployed, and maintained.
Vision Engineers - Learn essential video engineering skills, including racking, signal routing, and fault-finding.
Sound Engineers - Explore audio signal paths, equipment testing, and communication systems.
Sound Supervisors - Gain insights into microphone placement and live sport audio mixing.
Edit & Ingest Engineers - Understand replay workflows, media storage solutions, and content logging systems.
Camera Operators - Get hands-on exposure to broadcast camera technology and operating techniques.
Technical Management & Coordinators - Learn how large-scale broadcast operations are planned, scheduled, and delivered.
This traineeship offers a unique chance to apply engineering principles in a fast-paced, real-world broadcast environment, contributing to one of the biggest annual productions in sports television.

Placement Dates: 11th June - 12th July 2026
Location: Wimbledon, London (on-site only; travel by public transport required as no parking available)
Expenses: Up to 100 per day (covering travel and subsistence)
Applicants must be available to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
