Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Window Fitter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fitting windows and possess a variety of related skills. This role involves working on residential and commercial properties, ensuring that all installations are completed to the highest standards of quality and safety.

Duties

Measure and cut window frames accurately to fit various types of openings. Install windows, ensuring they are properly sealed and secure. Use hand tools and power tools effectively for cutting, shaping, and fitting materials. Perform electrical work as required for window installations that include integrated features. Collaborate with carpenters and other tradespeople to ensure seamless integration of windows into building structures. Conduct routine maintenance checks on installed windows to ensure functionality and safety. Fabricate custom window solutions as needed, including welding metal frames when required. Follow health and safety regulations at all times while on-site. Maintain a clean and organised work environment throughout the installation process.

Experience

Proven experience as a Window Fitter or in a similar role is essential. Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and other equipment used in window fitting is required. Familiarity with masonry work is advantageous for installations involving brick or stone structures. Knowledge of roofing principles may be beneficial for installations in upper storeys or sloped roofs. Experience in plumbing may be useful for integrating windows with existing water drainage systems. A background in carpentry will be considered an asset, enhancing your ability to work with various materials effectively.
