Job Overview


We are seeking a skilled Window Fitter to join our dynamic team, based in St Austell, covering the whole of Cornwall. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in construction and have experience in fitting windows and doors. This role requires a keen eye for detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. The Window Fitter will be responsible for ensuring that all installations meet safety standards and are completed to the highest quality.

Duties



Install, repair, and replace windows and doors in residential and commercial properties Measure and cut materials accurately to ensure proper fitting Use hand tools and power tools effectively for installation tasks Interpret schematics and technical drawings to guide installations Perform necessary adjustments to ensure proper sealing and insulation Collaborate with other tradespeople on-site, including carpenters, plumbers, and electricians Conduct maintenance checks on installed windows and doors to ensure functionality Follow health and safety regulations at all times during installations Maintain a clean and organised work environment

Requirements



Proven experience in window fitting or a related field such as construction or fabrication Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment Knowledge of roofing, plumbing, welding, electrical systems, plastering, carpentry, masonry, and construction painting is highly desirable Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving abilities Good physical fitness as the role requires lifting heavy materials and working at heights Effective communication skills for liaising with clients and team members A valid driving licence is preferred for travel between job sites Must have own tools

Pay: 29,500.00-36,400.00 per year
