Responsibilities
Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and menu specifications.
Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards.
Assist in the planning and development of new menu items, incorporating seasonal ingredients where possible.
Manage kitchen staff, providing guidance and support during meal preparation and service.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, ensuring all equipment is properly cleaned and stored.
Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, placing orders as necessary to ensure smooth operations.
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure timely service and customer satisfaction.
Help train new kitchen staff on cooking techniques, food safety practices, and kitchen protocols.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Chef or in a similar culinary role within a restaurant environment.
Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, culinary arts, and food safety regulations.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high-quality standards.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy kitchen setting.
A passion for cooking and creativity in meal preparation, with an eye for presentation.
Strong communication skills to work collaboratively with team members.
Culinary qualifications or relevant certifications are advantageous but not essential.
