Overview


We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Women's Complex Needs Recovery Worker to join our team in North Herts. This role is pivotal in supporting women facing complex challenges, including mental health issues, substance misuse, and social exclusion. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of public health and recovery principles, along with the ability to engage effectively with clients to facilitate their recovery journey.

Responsibilities



Provide one-on-one support to women with complex needs, fostering a safe and supportive environment. Develop and implement personalised recovery plans tailored to individual client needs. Educate clients on health-related topics, including medical terminology and self-care practices. Facilitate group sessions and public speaking engagements to promote awareness and understanding of complex needs. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including healthcare professionals and social services, to ensure comprehensive support for clients. Maintain accurate records of client progress and interventions in accordance with organisational policies. Advocate for clients' needs within the community and assist them in accessing relevant services.

Qualifications



Experience or qualifications in public health, nursing, or a related field is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of medical terminology and the ability to communicate effectively about health issues. Excellent public speaking skills with the ability to educate diverse audiences. A compassionate approach with a commitment to empowering women in their recovery journeys. Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously. A proactive attitude towards continuous professional development and learning.

Looking for 1 x Part Time Recovery Worker.

18 hours per week - Saturdays and Sundays and one weekday evening shift.

Person Specification:



Essential



A minimum of 2 years' experience of working directly with clients in substance misuse treatment .as well as supporting these service users in all types of tenure including Private Sector tenancies. The post holder will understand the needs of a staff team working in this field.

8.2 Experience of formulating comprehensive risk assessments, care planning and reviewing client care

8.3 Qualifications and experience in delivering support in a one-to-one and/ or group setting

8.4 Ability to negotiate with service users, statutory and voluntary agencies and

8.5 To be empathetic to the needs and circumstances of service users

8.6 An understanding of mental health and social services and knowledge of a wide range of statutory and voluntary support agencies

An ability to deliver independent living and recovery outcomes for service users within a challenging performance driven environment. An understanding of the changing and dynamic environment within which we deliver services.

8.9 Ability to establish and maintain clear boundaries with clients

8.10 Ability to work on own initiative, use good judgement, prioritise accordingly, meet deadlines and seek help and advice when appropriate.

8.11 To demonstrate self awareness and a commitment to diversity and equal opportunities as they relate to service delivery and partnership working. Able to challenge attitudes to change behaviours.

Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills.

8.14 Ability to establish rapport and maintain good relationships with external stakeholders and services using liaison and networking skills

8.15 Ability to work within a pressured environment

8.16 Ability to positively promote Druglink to attract client referrals and always ensure an excellent reputation with partners

8.17 Full, clean driving licence including Business insurance cover

Desirable

:

Knowledge of Housing, Homelessness and general housing issues

Competent IT skills Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and a willingness to learn and engage with other programmes as required

A commitment to own learning and development and the learning and development of others

As part of your Continuous Professional Development, you will be expected to attend learning events and training on a regular basis and to reflect on your learning to build and develop best practice within your team and across the organisation.

A Counselling qualification and subsequent experience within a substance misuse setting would be advantageous
