Job Description

At the heart and soul of London since 1895 West Ham United is a dynamic, fan-focused football Club constantly moving forward but always with an eye on the past.



Our home at the London Stadium has a capacity of 62,500 making it one of the biggest club Stadia in the country however our tickets are the lowest priced for London based clubs in the Premier League, echoing objectives to create Affordable Family Football.



In 2018, our Women's team gained a professional status for the very first time, jumping 2 divisions and competed in the Women's Super League (WSL), the premier division of women's football in England. After finishing a respectable 7th, the team enjoyed particular success in the FA Cup reaching the final of the competition, eventually being beaten by 2017 winners Manchester City.



In April 2019, we opened our brand-new Academy facility based at Chadwell Heath which will help to bring through some of the very best talents in the area, the recent emergence of First Team Players Declan Rice and Ben Johnson are a testament to the work already being done at the Academy.



On the business side, we are continuing to create a Stadium our supporters can call home, with the renaming of the Billy Bonds Stand and Claret and Blue pitch surrounding amongst the latest developments. Additionally, the Club has achieved the Disability Confident Leader status.

JOB PURPOSE




An opportunity has become a valued and integral part of our performance support team at West Ham Women's 1st team. We are looking for an enthusiastic, diligent performance analyst to show their passion and interest in their area of expertise. We are looking for a technically proficient lead performance analyst who can communicate their analysis succinctly to a wide variety of people whilst leading a growing department and managing a team of staff. We are a growing team of experts from diverse backgrounds so we can keep adding to our team with high levels of support and challenge in the way we think.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES



Lead all performance analysis needs of the First Team, to include pre-match, matchday, post-match and training Coordinate the filming of all training & matches to support team, unit and individual coding requirements Create dossiers for upcoming opposition teams to include appropriate coding and editing of footage, relevant statistical break downs of key

individual and team technical data to present to the technical team

Lead the creation and animation of pre-match videos & gameplan requirements Work with the Head of Recruitment to develop data sets for incoming player targets and present player profiles to the Manager and Recruitment

Committee

Track the development of the women's game and ensure analysis methods reflect development and change Complete post-match reports for coaching staff for individual player & team technical data collected Produce and update statistical databases for trend analysis Utilise specialist software to enhance all data & statistical support via specialist platforms (Hudl Sportscode, Studio, Impect, Statsbomb, MS Excel) Maintain and evolve interactive best practice documents such as principles of play & individual player profiles Manage games library, online video sharing platform, data integration and performance analysis suite. Lead Performance Analysis department meetings, work flow & management of performance analysis staff whilst linking closely with the wider club

for in-service events

To establish and develop effective working relationships with coaching and multidisciplinary staff. To support the recruitment of PA interns through key university partnerships. To undertake any other duties as seen as appropriate by the West Ham United Women First Team Manager. To contribute to an elite learning environment in which players and staff are expected to demonstrate values expected from a West Ham

employee.

PERSON SPECIFICATION



Abilities, Skills, Knowledge

Essential

Msc in Performance Analysis Minimum of 3 years working in elite football (preferably in the women's game) Experience of working with platforms such as Hudl Sportscode, Impect, Wyscout, Statsbomb & Coach Paint Demonstrate suitable awareness and commitment in helping to create and promote an inclusive and safe environment that values all and is

considerate of any additional welfare support and learning needs.

Project management experience Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent organisation and time management skills Demonstrate suitable awareness and commitment in helping to create and promote an inclusive and safe environment that values all and is

considerate of any additional welfare support and learning needs.

Ability to work effectively under own initiative and as a team member and able to anticipate, adapt and prioritise different workloads Ability to communicate in a calm and concise effective manner with various professional disciplines and at all levels of an organisation Be prepared to work, at times, unsociable hours including evenings and weekends and have a willingness to travel

Preferred

Additional education in sports science or sports coaching Knowledge of foreign languages, spoken and written Holds a current clean driving licence and have use of own vehicle
