In this role,
you will be responsible for providing an initial assessment and a time-effective, whole-system support service for women within the Norfolk area who have come into contact with the Criminal Justice System.
The service users supported by this role will be individuals facing various and multiple disadvantages, including; mental health needs, housing issues, debt, substance misuse, family and relationship issues, individuals who have suffered domestic and sexual abuse, and those at risk of offending or reoffending. You will be required to tailor the service to meet the needs of the women on your caseload and assist in diverting them away from the Criminal Justice System.
The role will be community-based and client-led and will involve significant partnership working within the local area to enable you to offer a whole system approach to overcoming barriers and empowering the service user to make better life choices.
You will be part of a comprehensive service delivering Wonder+ across Norfolk, representing St Giles Trust, being mindful of and promoting the organisation's Vision, Mission, Values, and strategic aims at all times.

Key Deliverables
To provide a comprehensive and holistic assessment, advice, referral, and support service to women and explore innovative and effective methods of case-working clients, which will reduce the risk of them re-offending.
Deliver an outreach service that includes advocating on behalf of the client and providing a practical service that will include; setting up access to community mental health services and other alternative support services, including; housing, benefits, employment, training, and education services.
Undertake pre-release visits to clients (in the Police Investigation Centers where possible) to identify suitable project clients and produce action and risk management plans.
Engage in pre-Court activities; by communicating with defense solicitors, attending court appearances to support WONDER clients, and providing pre and post-court advocacy and advice.
Develop effective relationships with all relevant agencies; be aware of referral routes and actively promote good partnerships and effective joint working.
Implement safeguarding procedures when necessary, following internal policies and processes while working alongside the relevant external agencies and support services to protect the individual in need.
Maintain accurate records of your activity; collect and collate data and evidence in line with contractual requirements. Work constructively with your caseload and external organisations to achieve project targets.
Attend and contribute to all relevant meetings as directed by the Senior Worker and/or Manager.
Provide support to peer advisors and volunteers attached to relevant projects and teams.
Develop and maintain positive and professional working relationships with all St Giles Trust staff members.
Close cases efficiently and positively, identifying a survival plan for the client that will identify agencies that can be used for ongoing support and agencies that can be used if serious problems develop in the future.
Actively assist in the implementation of the Trust's policies and procedures.
Undertake any relevant training requested by your manager to support your success and development within the role.
Carry out similar duties which the Trust may require.
