Mon-Thurs 8.00-16.30, Fri 8.00 - 15.30

Salary:

Competitive - negotiable depending on experience

We are looking for a skilled Wood Machinist to join our team in Flitwick. The ideal candidate will have a previous experience working as a Wood Machinist. Additional, in-house training will be given to competent time served candidates.

Essential Skills and Experience:

Skilled in the use of all classical wood working machinery such as Planer, Thicknesser, Moulder, Spindle Moulder, Tenoner, Saws etc. Hands-on experience in joinery machining and joinery construction is essential. Ability to follow written instructions and read technical drawings is essential. A good level of math is required, as the role involves numerical work and accurate measurements. Committed to adhering to current health & safety legislation in the workplace. An Excellent team player who works cohesively with others to achieve a common goal. Good communication and organizational skills. Demonstrates strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities. Highly responsible and reliable. Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environments.

Desirable (but not essential):

NVQ in wood machining or City & Guilds. Knowledge or use on CNC machines would be beneficial.

Duties to include but not limited to:

Producing one-off bespoke pieces as well as high volume units. Working with the production team to establish the best machining method for the task in hand. Working with the production team and tooling suppliers to establish the best machining tools to be used. Communicating any production related discrepancies with your line manager prior to producing items.
