To undertake delivery, assessment and internal verification for learners completing work placements and accredited units for qualifications
To support with all aspects of the learner journey, initial assessment, information advice and guidance, enrolment, learning, assessment, review of progress and progression to further learning or employment
To liaise and communicate with employers of learners' progress against individual targets and learning plans
To maintain all quality assurance standards in relation to work based learning and in line with Gatsby Benchmarks, including attendance at meetings in relation to role and responsibilities
To co-operate with the department's leadership team with regard to the annual review of teaching, learning & assessment
To maintain CPD in subject specialist knowledge and skills to maintain quality learning and assessment, including a total communication approach and use of Virtual Learning Environments
Must have own transport with business insurance.
Key Responsibilities
Assessment and monitoring progress of learners according to college and national standards, policies and procedures
Plan and deliver a strategy of placement visits/contacts to ensure that learners are supported, making progress and are achieving their work experience placements
Monitor health, safety and safeguarding procedures in the work experience placements; maintain records and act on causes for concern with the relevant line manager
Ensure effective liaison with employers to ensure that they are fully informed, all training opportunities identified, and learners are appropriately supported. This includes provision of documentation for recording progress
Attend health and safety meetings, reporting work-based placement concerns and actions where appropriate
Review and track all learners undertaking work-based practice and/or supported internships, identifying and using appropriate assessment methods required to meet bork based attitudes, skills and behaviours
Set and review targets in line with the college timetable for all learners undertaking work placements and/or internships. Record these on the college Promonitor system
Identify learners at risk of not achieving, in line with college procedures for attendance and safeguarding. Document and report to line manager
Keep appropriate records and documentation in line with college expected standards; this includes, but not exclusively, records of attendance, recoding on ILP, planning documents
To participate in the internal verification process of work-based learning assessments
Assist with the promotion and marketing of relevant study programme and/or supported internship highlighting work placement opportunities and benefits to the learner
Ensure continuous development and improvement of professional knowledge, including maintaining industry development; attend updates with vocational awarding bodies; develop Virtual Learning Environment skills
Ensure skills specific to working environment are maintained and updated; this includes, but not exclusively, CPD relating to people with additional needs, to include total communication approach and working with individuals with SEND and autism.
14. Any other duties, of a similar level of responsibility, as may be required.

Qualified/experienced work-based assessor with proven track record of securing work placements and developing skills that lead to employment for individuals with SEND.
