Job Description


We\xe2\x80\x99re looking for a Workforce Planning Senior Manager to join our Shared Service Centre (SSC) in Bradford.

As part of the Central strategy team, the role is primarily responsible for supporting specific development in the workforce in multiple areas including resource planning, capacity planning, employee engagement, technology training and developing a skills matrix.

The role will also work closely with the People Team (through the People Business Partner) to deliver talent and development, people policies, workplace environment, culture, reward and DE&I.

Working with the People Business Partner, you will ensure that employees have policies that support them in a fair and consulted way and are suitable for the work carried out in the centre. You will ensure that wider business initiatives are implemented consistently and fairly across SSC.

Responsible for driving the DE&I agenda and Culture & Engagement initiatives for the Shared Service Centre, you will act as a representative for the people within the teams, aligning all plans and activities with the People Business Partner for LSS

What will you be doing?

  • Create the Tech Academy, an internal academy to develop technical skills delivered across a multitude of channels including third party partnerships (Leeds University, Multiverse) and internal (LG central and locally delivered).
  • Perform a key role in the Global emerging talent agenda.
  • Head of the SSC Apprenticeship scheme (Current - 50 FTE)
  • Responsible for L&D budget for the SSC.
  • Manage the early careers strategy and grow graduate attraction in areas where there is a skills gap.
  • Understand the skillset required for the future and work with the L&D team to deliver relevant training both for individuals and populations.
  • Be aware of all expansion and growth projects and support with guidance on recruitment.
  • Work with the Talent Acquisition team to develop new and innovative ways to recruit. Assist in the recruitment process of key roles, ensuring DE&I recruitment initiatives are followed at all times.
  • Create and organise the delivery of training programmes aimed to equip Managers with the tools and resource to support the changing workforce, expectations and way of working
  • Owner of all communications to and from the team, working with the Central communications team to align.
  • Responsible for the creation and delivery of team events that are inclusive and engaging.
We tend to look for people with:
  • Previous experience of driving business performance through financial analysis and insight
  • Broad business experience gained within leadership and individual contributor roles
  • Led / participated in initiatives that translated a strategic vision and business strategies into tangible plans and deliverables
  • Able to grasp a good understanding of Liberty Global in relevant markets and the telecommunications industry
  • Able to get familiar with the Finance operating model and core responsibilities of each department
  • Strong Leadership presence, and ability to represent the MD in an exceptional way, aligned to LG Values and Leadership Expectations.
  • Engaging and influential communication style and stakeholder management at all levels of the organization to executive level
  • Building strong and trusting relationships across a broad network in the organisation and the ability to navigate across relationships at a senior level
  • Strong business acumen, coupled with excellent project management / facilitation skills
  • Ability to coordinate strategic initiatives
