Working Foreman (Carpenter)

for an upcoming construction project in

Derby

.

We are seeking a reliable and skilled candidate with strong carpentry experience and proven supervisory ability to oversee site operations and ensure works are completed safely and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee and coordinate daily site activities and trades. Carry out hands-on carpentry work when required to support project progress. Ensure all works are completed safely, efficiently, and in line with project specifications. Read and interpret drawings, plans, and work instructions. Manage labour, materials, and resources on site. Conduct toolbox talks, site inductions, and assist with H&S paperwork. Work closely with site management, engineers, and subcontractors to resolve issues. Maintain a tidy, organised, and compliant site environment. Represent the contractor professionally with strong leadership and communication skills.

Key Requirements

SSSTS or ideally SMSTS

(essential). Strong background in

carpentry

with experience operating as a Working Foreman / Lead Carpenter. Valid CSCS Card. Previous experience supervising teams on construction projects. Excellent communication and organisational skills. Strong knowledge of health & safety procedures. Ability to read drawings and deliver work to specification. Reliable, punctual, and capable of leading by example.
