The role sits within the Quality and Performance team across our two contracts, North Northamptonshire Council and West Northamptonshire Council. Contract: Full time, part time and flexible

Responsibilities

As Works Quality Inspector you\xe2\x80\x99ll be working within the quality & performance team, supporting them with the management of independent site inspections, providing assurance to management and clients that works are completed in accordance with works information and design requirements. Giving guidance and advice regarding the effective management of quality assurance and quality control, delivering quality management and improvement support to all projects and enabling functions.

Your day to day will include:

  • Working with the Senior Operations Managers, identifying when jobs / schemes are needing auditing, reporting jobs that haven\xe2\x80\x99t been audited and reporting the outcomes of audits
  • Conduct formal quality audits on schemes including post-completion inspections to assess long term quality and durability, compiling relevant documentation to close out issues raised from audit
  • Communicating with the delivery team to ensure full understanding of quality assurance requirements, providing them with expert advice and coaching where works do not achieve the required standard, being the mediator between all parties on any quality related issues,
  • Field based assessing of sites across North and West Northamptonshire, with the rest of the time spent collating findings and providing feedback to Senior Management and Operations teams, ensuring quality related KPI\xe2\x80\x99s are achieved, managing the key quality commitments across the contract, supporting of and co-ordinating quality including the monitoring of sub-contractors
  • Being pro-active in quality incident prevention, monitoring and recording effective corrective actions and control of non-conformances, analysing trends, and reporting accordingly, performing relevant investigation of root cause analysis, defects and other issues relating to quality

  • Show an industry specific HNC or degree (Quality or Construction)
  • Demonstrate experience within a quality related role in highways or construction
