Redwood Environmental Services Ltd is a family-run Drainage, Civils and Utilities services company based in Bridgend. We provide our services across Wales, Southwest England and borders. We also specialise in liquid waste removal, liquid waste treatment, drainage, survey, and inspections.

Established in 2003, our dedicated team consists of qualified drainage and management industry leaders. All members of our team are trained and qualified, hold certificates including CSCS, confined space training, Street Works Certificates, and more. We serve both domestic and commercial customers.

Job Purpose:



To coordinate daily workshop operations, manage the procurement of parts, materials, consumables and hired in plant and equipment. Ensure compliance with company procedures, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. The role supports efficient workshop performance, cost control, and quality assurance across all maintenance activities. IT technical lead, IT outsource liaison.

Key Responsibilities:



1. Workshop Coordination



Plan, schedule, and allocate vehicle repair and maintenance work. Liaise with managers to ensure efficient workflow and timely job completion. Maintain accurate service and maintenance electronic records recorded against each vehicle. Monitor workshop productivity, downtime, and resource allocation.

2. Procurement / Buying / Hiring



Source, order, and manage vehicle parts, tools, and consumables. Negotiate with suppliers for best prices, quality, and delivery terms. Maintain supplier relationships and ensure timely delivery of required items. Track and control workshop stock levels to avoid shortages or excess. Negotiate with suppliers and hire in and off plant and equipment when required.

3. Compliance and Quality Control



Ensure all workshop activities comply with company policies, health and safety standards, and legal regulations. Conduct regular checks and audits to confirm adherence to maintenance and safety procedures. Keep up-to-date with industry regulations, environmental standards, and manufacturer requirements. Maintain accurate compliance records and documentation. Complete new client onboarding forms. Mainatain driver hours records, Zero Defect records, PMI records.

4. Administration and Reporting



Prepare purchase orders, maintenance logs, and compliance reports. Support budgeting and cost-tracking for workshop operations. Assist in preparing reports on workshop performance and compliance metrics. Run weekly reports on driver safety performance from SAMSARA. Driving Licence Checks. Managing PPE orders and stock.

5. Training



Support colleagues by booking training courses for the wider team. Look for funding and liaise with CITB to secure funding for training.

Skills and Qualifications:



Experience in automotive, fleet, or mechanical workshop environment. Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance processes and parts procurement. Good understanding of compliance, health and safety, and quality standards. Excellent organisational and communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office and maintenance management systems. Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
