Workshop Controller
to join our team and help us maintain the highest standards in vehicle repairs and operational efficiency.
The Role
As a
Workshop Controller
, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our busy body shop, ensuring the smooth workflow of repairs, managing staff productivity, and maintaining high levels of
customer satisfaction
. You will play a key role in
team leadership, compliance with industry standards, and effective communication with customers and insurers
.
Key Responsibilities
Workshop & Team Management:
Lead and motivate a team of technicians to ensure repairs are completed
on time and to high standards
.
Monitor workshop output, ensuring efficiency, quality, and compliance with
BS 10125:2022 standards
.
Allocate jobs fairly, based on technician skill levels and availability.
Ensure all necessary
equipment and materials
are available and used efficiently.
Customer Service & Complaint Handling:
Provide
exceptional customer service
, addressing queries professionally.
Handle
customer complaints
effectively, ensuring swift resolution and customer satisfaction.
Compliance & Auditing:
Ensure adherence to
BS 10125:2022 standards
, manufacturer guidelines, and Health & Safety regulations.
Prepare and manage
audits
, ensuring full compliance with industry regulations.
Maintain all required records and documentation for
insurance, manufacturers, and company policies
.
Technical & Administrative Duties:
Use
management systems
to monitor job progress, parts ordering, and invoicing.
Ensure accurate documentation of all repair processes.
Assist in
budget control
, monitoring workshop expenses and improving efficiency.
What We're Looking For
Experience in a Workshop Controller/Body shop Supervisor role.
Strong
leadership and management skills
- able to drive team performance.
Excellent
customer service
skills - able to communicate effectively with clients and insurers.
Good computer skills
, familiar with
body shop management software
and reporting tools.
Experience handling
audits, compliance, and industry standards (BS 10125, manufacturer approvals, etc.).
Ability to
prioritise workload
and ensure a steady flow of repairs.
