Mercedes-Benz Truck & Van Mallusk has an excellent opportunity for a Workshop Controller. We are a sales and aftersales franchise for Mercedes-Benz Truck and Van.

Are you currently a Workshop Controller, an experienced vehicle technician, senior service advisor or a mechanically minded individual looking to progress into a middle-management pathway within the Mercedes-Benz network.

Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 17:30

Key Purpose of the Role



As Workshop Controller, you will be responsible for planning, controlling and delivering overall workshop performance. Working alongside the Service Manager and Workshop Foreman you will ensure the smooth flow of vehicles through our busy workshop. Responsibilities include monitoring productivity, efficiency and the quality of work.

This is a critical role within our dealership.

Main Duties



o

Allocate work to Commercial Vehicle Technicians (CVTs) and based on skill level and job complexity to maximise efficiency

Oversee, mentor and coach CVTs and Apprentice CVTs with the Workshop Foreman Manage job card write-ups through our electronic work-in-progress portal and liaise with the costing department for effective invoicing Monitor repair and service progress, ensuring timely completion and compliance with manufacturer standards Assist Technicians with technical challenges to support accurate diagnosis and repair Liaise with Service Advisors and Sales department to provide accurate customer updates Participate in operational meetings and daily yard walks Determine training requirements in line with manufacturer standards and liaise with the HR Manager for training plans and enrolments

Essential Skills



Highly organised with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively Strong understanding of workshop practices Technical knowledge gained through qualification or relevant experience Proficient in IT, including MS Office and Dealer Management Systems (preferably Kerridge) Confident in having challenging conversations when required Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment Knowledge of HGV/LCV inspection standards and road-legal requirements/documentation
