Job Description

Due to new business opportunities and growth, A&D Logistics have an exciting opportunity to join our team as Workshop & Fleet Manager.

We have an excellent workshop facility and a strong partnership with Renault Trucks UK. Building on our high standards of roadworthiness and compliance, you'll be responsible for the provision of all workshop services to our own fleet of vehicles, trailer and plant as well as ensuring we build and maintain relationships with external customers to provide the expected service levels. As Workshop & Fleet manager, you will have full accountability for department performance including Safety, Productivity and Cost and as a company, we fully encourage continuous improvement to maximise performance.

We're ambitious and looking for someone with a 'can do, will do' attitude to come and join us. If you have experience of Fleet & Workshop management and are comfortable liaising with customers, both internal and external, then we would be delighted to talk to you.

The responsibilities of the position:



Planning and managing internal and external customers requirements Leading the way and promoting a safety culture within the team Reporting at management meetings and customer scheduled meetings To ensure the safety and road worthiness of vehicles and availability - To be responsible for all workshop activities, ensuring productivity and performance targets are met and take effective action where they are not. To deliver the highest standard of operational services within a safety-first culture. You will have financial responsibility; demonstrate value for money and operational efficiency through continuous improvement. To realise full commercial opportunity and maximise profitability as well as reviewing technology to streamline processes and remove waste. To manage MOT testing & compliance facility to the required standards. To continually review work methods to deliver a quality and effective service and maintain adequate stock levels. To be responsible for the evaluation of breakdowns, road calls, vehicle recovery, call out arrangements and implement appropriate action, ensuring 24/7 cover. To manage the fleet operations, schedules, maintenance, repairs, and servicing, undertaking reviews so that we comply with our Operator Licence requirements. To ensure that all fleet documentation is kept up to date, completed within the required timescales, and that data is entered accurately into the required IT systems. Manage the workshop environment to ensure kept in a safe, tidy, secure, and clean condition. To be responsible for the evaluation and authorisation of work within specified limits, to appropriate standards and to process invoices within budget. To support all our accredited standards ensuring we are compliant with all statutory provision by working in partnership with QHSE Manager and HR. To provide clear leadership and direction for employees, having line management responsibility for all fleet workshop employees. To deliver high levels of customer care and service levels to both internal and external customers.

Key attributes:



2+ Years' previous Workshop management experience gained within the HGV Sector Be a fully qualified HGV Mechanic with City & Guilds / NVQ and be able to undertake all aspects of commercial vehicle maintenance and repair Ability to proficiently use MS Office suite Excellent verbal and written communication skills Full UK Driving License A national CPC and HGV license would be advantageous but not essential
Salary Negotiable depending on experience.
