Job Overview:





Workshop Foreman To lead the effective operation of the VMU by managing technicians, coordinating workflow, ensuring timely vehicle repairs, maintaining safety standards, and overseeing workshop resources to deliver a safe, efficient, and reliable service.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:




Qualified Mechanic Mechanically hands on, with good technical knowledge on heavy goods vehicle. You will be the first port of call to assist the VMU team diagnosing and rectifying complex issues IT Literate-MS Office-Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook Flexible and adaptable to changes in a demanding environment Be able to prioritise workloads and react to changes accordingly Excellent customers awareness skills required



Key Accountabilities:




Day-to-day management of technicians. Conducting performance reviews and offering ongoing feedback to staff. Enforcing safety regulations to safeguard team members and equipment. Oversight of incoming work to the VMU. Overseeing operations to maintain productivity, quality, and safety. Coordination of VORs to ensure timely servicing. General workshop and operational management. Approval of parts required for repairs. Health & Safety for the VMU (both in the VMU and Yard). Providing customer service by addressing complaints, offering estimates, and ensuring customer satisfaction. Handling administrative duties including record keeping, equipment orders, and staff scheduling



Health & Safety:




To ensure you follow safe working practices. To promptly report all accidents and incidents to your line manager. To assist in accident investigations as necessary. To ensure that housekeeping standards are maintained. Ensure all VMU equipment is inspected and has the necessary certification To adhere to relevant site rules, QEHS policies and procedures including quality procedures, HACCP, safe systems of work and environmental controls.



Communication:




To have good communication skills and ability to liaise verbally confidently with employees and Management. To listen carefully to instructions. To keep your manager up to date with any work issues that may affect deadlines.



Flexibility and Ad-Hoc:




To be flexible to work on a variety of duties and locations as required. * To carry out any other task that is reasonable and within your skill set as business needs dictate.
