We are looking for a Workshop Manager to manage and develop the Fabrication workshop in Garswood to optimise productivity whilst ensuring safety and quality standards are fully adhered to - additionally supporting the Regions in the management of their Repair processes. It will be looking after a small team of 9 people and being very hands on in the role.

Key Responsibilities
Lead, motivate and develop the GWK team to achieve high performance - incl succession planning
Manage the throughput of work instruction and materials to ensure critical timelines are met
Maintain control over Overtime and Non-Productive hours to ensure work is completed in a cost effective manner
Ensure the GWK team and the out-based Coded Welding teams are up to date with all relevant training and certification
Maintain rigorous Health and Safety standard within the workshop zone
Support the Regions and Engineering in the assessment of repairs, advice on repair practices, assistance with repair backlogs, potential fabrication costs and solutions
Provide work instruction to the welding team and administrator to ensure the correct work is carried out and processed through Finance / InspHire
Provide well documented cost information to Finance / Payroll (hours / material / overtime)
Support Procurement in the inspection of equipment for compliance with Quality Standards
Provide workshop performance information to Head of Fleet & Pricing
Build relationships with Engineers, GM's and other workshops to ensure the value of the GWK unit is maximised
Work with Contracting to facilitate timely and cost effective solutions to installation problems
What You Need
HNC / HND education
FLT licence
Experience in a fabrication environment
Experienced flame cutter and grinder
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings eg 1st and 3rd angle
Competent in MIG and MMA Welding
