We are an established worldwide commercial refrigeration company, known for our high standards, reliable service, and strong customer relationships. As the business continues to grow, we are looking to add a skilled Workshop Operative to our Operations team in Goldthorpe, South Yorkshire.

This is a hands-on role for someone with a practical workshop or technical background who takes pride in delivering quality workmanship and working to high standards within a structured, ISO 9001-accredited environment. You will have the opportunity to develop your technical skills, while supporting the smooth running of our workshop and associated operations.

The Role



As a Workshop Operative, you will support the preparation, maintenance, testing, and quality of equipment. Working within a structured operations team, you will follow ISO 9001-accredited processes to ensure all work is completed accurately, efficiently, and safely. The role also requires flexibility to support wider operational activities as needed to keep the workshop and associated functions running smoothly.

Duties



Carry out hands-on workshop tasks including assembly, preparation, testing, and support of equipment Perform basic technical testing and record results using company systems Complete quality checks and report defects or non-conformances as required Analyse faults and complete repairs as required Prepare and organise parts for workshop jobs and customer orders Support stock control activities including cycle counts and annual stock takes Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organised workshop and storage environment Assist with layout, workflow, and space-efficiency improvements Liaise with internal teams and external service providers when required Carry out additional workshop and operational duties as reasonably required Other duties as required

Skills Required



Workshop Background

: Experience in a workshop, technical, mechanical, or engineering-based role

Tools & Equipment

: Strong practical ability and confidence using hand tools, power tools and workshop equipment

Fault Analysis

: Ability to analyse faults and carry out repairs and rework

Quality Focus

: Strong attention to detail in maintaining product quality standards, both independently and as part of the team during quality checks.

Self-Motivation

: Proactive and driven, actively contributing to achieving both departmental and company-wide goals.

Process Adherence

: Ability to follow processes and implement best practices to maximise efficiency.

Communication Skills

: Strong interpersonal skills for collaborating with team members and coordinating tasks effectively.

Teamwork

: Must be a collaborative team player, working seamlessly with others across the department and company.

IT Skills

: Basic IT skills for operating scanners and handheld tablets.

Electrical Experience F-Gas/Refrigeration Background Waterjet Experience Press brake Experience

What We Offer



Holiday Allowance:

Starting at 26 days per year, increasing to 30 days after 5 years' service, plus bank holidays.
