Role Summary



The Workshop Supervisor will support and coordinate the activities of the production teams under the guidance of the Workshop Manager and Manufacturing Manager to ensure that all customer production, quality, and delivery requirements are met.

This is a hands-on role focused on overseeing daily production operations, ensuring efficient and timely processes, and promoting a motivated, skilled, and productive workforce.

Key Responsibilities



Leadership & Team Management



Provide daily supervision and support to productions teams to maintain a motivated and effective workforce. Assisting in resolving minor team issues and escalate concerns to the Workshop Manager or HR where appropriate. Support training and development activities in collaboration with TAQA assessors to ensure team competency. Driving the timely execution of production work orders, ensuring quality and delivery expectations are achieved first time, every time. Overseeing production teams to ensure all customer and internal production schedules are met. Supporting lean manufacturing practices, embedding continuous improvement, and eliminating waste in production delivery. Support the production teams, as required by performing necessary operations to help the team ensure the customer expectations are met.

Production Deliver



Collaborate with Expeditors and Production Team to consistently provide the production lines to achieve production delivery targets. Take ownership of final inspection to ensure all product meets required quality standards and specifications. Assist in identifying and suggesting improvements to production processes using lean principles. Provide basic technical support and guidance for new products and processes. Help maintain clear communication across production areas and with other departments. Report any issues affecting contract performance or potential delays to the Workshop Manager. Update all production data as appropriate. Support the processing of production works orders (Digital EQPs), ensuring quality and delivery expectations are met. Liaise with the Planning Team to help translate production schedules into achievable daily tasks. Ensure materials, tools, fixtures, and PPE are available and ready for use. Maintain accurate and timely updates of production data and records.

Process Improvement & Communication



Maintain clear, effective communication across production areas and with the wider business to achieve consistent productivity levels and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction. Maintain timely effective and concise communication across all products areas and the wider business, keeping the Workshop Manager informed of any issues effecting contract performance including potential delays.

Compliance & Workplace Standards



Adhere strictly to customer specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO9001, ISO45001, ISO 14001, RISAS etc) Ensure adherence to the Company's robust quality control processes. Foster a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging feedback, conducting root-cause analysis of issues, and applying corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Ensure strict compliance with health and safety regulations, including correct PPE usage and safe forklift operation etc Assist in safety drills (e.g., fire, chemical spill, first aid) to ensure preparedness for emergencies. Ensure all tools, equipment, and materials are properly labelled, stored, and maintained. Maintain clear walkways, emergency exits, and signage for hazard awareness. Establish a housekeeping schedule and assign responsibility for maintaining cleanliness across all shifts.

Key Outcomes / Measures of Success



Excellent relations with the team and the ability to build strong working relationships with all teams and levels, both internally and externally. Work alongside TAQA assessors to identify and implement opportunities for the development of production operator competencies. A safe, clean, and well-organised department. A motivated, skilled workforce consistently meeting quality and delivery targets. An efficient and lean despatch process. Achievement of key performance indicators (KPIs) aligned with departmental and business objectives.

Essential Skills & Attributes



Excellent communication skills. The ability to proactively contribute to the team, engaging the interest and participation of others. Comprehensive understanding of manufacturing systems and processes Results orientated and organised with the ability to plan and deliver against deadlines Excellent attention to detail Strong interpersonal skills A proven understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations Strong planning, organisational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work under pressure and make sound decisions in critical situations. The ability to perceive problems as they develop and communicate such problems to their team and line managers as appropriate.

Experience & Education



Minimum 2 years' experience in a Manufacturing environment with a comprehensive understanding of business systems.
