About us



Bauromat is an automation system builder based in Telford. We have been in business since 1997 covering a wide range of solutions, predominantly in robotic systems in welding and handling automation.

Our client base covers various industries including Automotive, Aerospace, and general industries.

The majority of installations are UK based with all equipment fully tested at our workshop prior to installation.

The machines that we design and manufacture are robot welding cells and general automation systems for a wide range of customers from some big blue chip customers to smaller general engineering companies, no two machines that we make are the same.

Position summary:



Based from our office in Telford you will be responsible for overseeing all day-to-day build activities within a small but fast-paced automation company. This role ensures projects are delivered on time, to specification, and in full compliance with Health & Safety standards. Acting as the key link between the workshop, design team, controls engineers, and customers, the workshop supervisor will coordinate resources, resolve issues, and manage off-site work requirements.

The role requires strong organisational skills, proactive communication, and the ability to lead a team to deliver high-quality automation solutions efficiently and safely, you will take ownership of ordering and controlling spares, monitoring commissioning progress, and supporting programmers to keep projects on track.

Main job functions:



Oversee and manage all day-to-day workshop build activities to ensure projects are delivered on time and to the required quality standards.

Liaise closely with the design team to understand build requirements, raise queries, and highlight any technical or operational issues that may affect delivery.

Coordinate with staff and customers for any off-site installation, commissioning, or service work, ensuring clear communication and professional representation of the company.

Monitor and enforce Health & Safety compliance across all workshop activities, maintaining a safe and organised working environment.

Manage the ordering and control of spare parts, materials, and consumables to avoid delays and ensure cost-effective procurement.

Work with controls engineers and programmers to ensure commissioning and testing activities are aligned with project timelines.

Track project progress, identify potential risks or delays, and implement corrective actions where necessary.

Provide leadership, guidance, and support to workshop staff, fostering a proactive and collaborative working culture.

Support continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to enhance workshop efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction.

Support with offsite breakdowns and commissioning as needed.

Preferred experience, however may not possess all skills but the willingness to learn is essential.



Hands on knowledge of building custom machines and using all general workshop equipment along with knowledge of fabrication techniques.

Provide first line support to your team for any queries, problems, and questions as well as supporting our apprentices.

Compile risk assessments and method statements for future and current jobs

Problem solving and decision making on situations that may arise within the team

Recognised Fabrication/Welding Qualification or 3 years relevant experience

Workshop supervisor experience

Recognised Mechanical Engineering Qualification or relevant experience

Knowledge of operating workshop machinery

Conduct site surveys in preparation for jobs coming to location

Knowledge of industry safety practices

Attention to detail

To have an adaptable approach to work alone or part of a team

Desirable experience / knowledge:



Knowledge of robots.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 35,000.00-42,000.00 per year
