Essential Criteria:
1. A minimum of 2 years experience with using workshop machinery.
2. A minimum of 1 years experience of leading a small team.
3. Previous forklift truck experience.
4. Previous experience with providing training to new starts.

Key Tasks and Duties:
1. Lead and supervise team members by organising jobs, providing guidance, and ensuring the work is performed accurately and efficiently.
2. Liaise with the cutting shop manager to plan, organise and manage all material on the cutting shop production floor. Paying particular attention to processed material between the plasma and brake press processes.
3. Liaise with the cutting shop manager to plan, organise and manage all external material associated with the cutting shop. Paying particular attention to material wastage.
4. Monitor the quality of finished products from each process by inspecting materials and products for defects and ensure they meet quality standards.
5. Implement corrective actions to address any quality issues that may arise.
6. Implement quality control procedures and address any quality issues promptly.
7. Train new starts on cutting techniques, safety procedures, and equipment operation aiming for maximum efficiency and minimum cutting losses.
8. Provide feedback and guidance to workers to help them improve their skills and performance.
9. Provide ongoing training and development for existing staff to improve their skills.
10. Ensure that all cutting equipment, such as cutting machines, blades, and tools, are properly maintained and in good working condition.
11. Ensure that materials, tools, and equipment are available and in good working condition.
12. Ensure all cutting shop staff comply with health and safety regulations and company policies.
13. Ensure cutting shop staff are completing their daily machinery pre use checks and assist with addressing any issues promptly.

1. To adhere to SFM Engineering's policies and procedures.
2. To carry out any other duties within reason and capability associated with this role.

Expected hours: 42.5 per week
