Contract type: Permanent

Hours: Mon - Fri, 37.5 per week min.

The Position



Metron is expanding its Additive Manufacturing (3D Printing) capabilities and is recruiting for a strong and imaginative Workshop Technician to expand the AM team. Although experience in dealing with metal AM (3D Printed) parts is an asset, willingness to learn, natural problem-solving skills and a can-do attitude are important.

You'll need to:



Manually work on the metal 3D printed parts (support removal, smoothing, blasting, finishing, drilling tapping, bonding etc.)

Setup the 3D Printing machines (training will be provided)

Assist with equipment maintenance and repairs as necessary, ensuring all equipment is in good working condition

Comply with the applicable quality standards (AS9100) by completing the appropriate documentation; to ensure compliance with the company's policies, procedures and practices

Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to health and safety regulations and protocols, so the health and safety guidelines are followed at all times, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)

Provide and assist technical support to the operations team, assisting with troubleshooting and problem-solving as required

Knowledge of metal Additive Manufacturing (Laser and Electron Beam Powder Bed Fusion) will be an advantage, otherwise, training will be provided.

Essentials



A relevant certification or experience in a technical field such as engineering

Proficiency in using hand and power tools

Excellent communicator, strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Must have the right to work legally in the UK

Desirable Skills



ARCAM AM and/or EOS hardware-specific software (Training to be provided)

3D Printing (metal powder bed)
