GNRC's offers wrap-around childcare to pupils of Rustington Primary (Funstars) & River Beach (Beachstars). We are seeking to recruit to fill the position of Childcare Assistant who will be available to work at Funstars wrap around care in Rustington Primary School and Beachstars wrap around care in River Beach Primary School. This position can be taken up on a term time only basis with overtime available in school holidays depending on the requirements of the applicant, because we run Holiday Clubs in addition to Breakfast and After-School Clubs in term time. We operate in term time between 7:30 - 8:45am and 15:00 - 18:00pm, Monday to Friday and 8:00 - 6:00 in the holidays. Up to 22 hours-per-week contract is desirable, but we are happy to negotiate a different schedule for the right candidate. The candidate will need to be able to get to both Rustington & River Beach School.

This role attracts an hourly rate of 12.25-12.95 (depending on qualification), this will rise from April 2026. The main duties include playing with children; taking daily responsibility for the smooth running of the setting; maintaining the highest standards of health, safety, hygiene and well-being for both children and staff; communicating effectively with the school, staff, children and parents.

The successful candidate will be: energetic and enthusiastic with a professional and engaging manner; an organised team player, able to work seamlessly with GNRC's Directors and the school; have experience in childcare and/or education with proven skills in engaging and motivating children. Ideally this person will also hold a childcare or education qualification, but we would consider hiring someone unqualified who would be happy to train on the job if they have the right personal attributes.
