Job summary:
Day to day management of Wymondham College Prep Wrap Around Care
Provide quality play care within the framework of the club's policies and procedures
Line manager:
WAC Manager / Area Manager / Director
Responsible for:
Play workers/volunteers
Working relationships:
Children attending the club and their parents or carers
Management or proprietor and staff, students and volunteers
Childcare and play organisations, schools, registering authorities
Main duties include:
Planning, preparing and delivering quality play opportunities within a safe and caring environment.
Providing comprehensive care for the children including collecting them from school and delivering them safely to parents/carers.
Providing refreshments and ensuring that hygiene, health and safety standards are met.
Administering first aid when necessary.
Setting up the play space including moving furniture and play equipment.
Consulting with children and involving them in planning activities.
Providing support and supervision to play workers and other staff, including volunteers.
Holding regular staff meetings and conducting regular reviews and appraisals for staff
Administration and record keeping, including staff and child records, financial records, ordering and purchasing, and working within an agreed budget.
Developing and maintaining good communication with all members of the club, with schools, and especially with parents.
Undertaking appropriate and relevant training.
Monitoring and maintaining a healthy, safe and secure working environment.
Working within the framework of the club's policies and procedures, and the Early Years Foundation Stage leading Ofsted inspections when visited.

Hours:
Before School:
Monday - Friday - 07:30 - 09:00
during school term tim
e (38 weeks per year) - 7.5 hours p/w
After School:
Monday - Friday - 14:45 - 18:00
during school term time
(38 weeks per year) - 16.25 hours p/w
23.75 maximum hours. If candidate available for after school club only this can be considered based on personal circumstances.
Salary:
23.75 hours per week x 15.00 per hour x 38 weeks = 13,537.50 per annum + pro rata holiday allowance - 1633.97
Total Salary - 15,171.47 per annum / 12 = 1264.28 per month for 12 months

Person Specification - Essential qualities:
Experience of working with 4 to 11 year olds
Relevant childcare Level 2 & 3 qualification
Understanding the varied needs of children and their families
Understanding the issues involved in the delivery of quality play care
Understanding the issues of equal opportunities
Provide and facilitate safe and creative play
Good communication skills
Able to work as part of a team
Sound judgement and common sense
Sufficient understanding and use of English to ensure the well-being of the children
Desirable qualities:
Experience of working within a play-based setting
Experience of administration
Competent in using IT to support play and club administration
Ability to work on own initiative
Appropriate child protection training
Paediatric First Aid Certificate
Food Hygiene Certificate
Full Training, Induction & Ongoing CPD will be provided to the successful candidates
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From 15.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 23.75 per week
