Sporting Influence Wrap Around Care Lead



This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team of PE specialists.

The position would suit:

someone with a childcare background with a L2 or L3 playworker/childcare qualification.

Sporting Influence is a PE Teaching specialist in its fourteenth year of trading working mainly in the Harrogate, Craven, York and Leeds area. We specialise in improving the standards of PE provision at Primary School level and creating innovative programmes using sport to engage pupils in cross curricular work. We have a strong ethos of Improving Social Skills through sport in everything we do.

We have a number of different programmes that are delivered into schools and cover a wide variety of different sports. Recently launched is the Sporting Influence Foundation (CIC) which works with children in challenging circumstances through sport and we are passionate in developing and growing a partnership with the Foundation.

A key part of the role is being able to adapt in different sports and events settings and have the ability to be committed to flexible working hours which will include weekends and evenings at certain times of the year.

We are seeking a passionate, confident, and experienced childcare professional to lead our after-school Wrap Around Care provision. This is a part-time role with the potential for additional hours in various exciting areas of the Sporting Influence Childcare and Sporting business.

About the Role:



As our Wrap Around Care Leader, you will be responsible for running a fun, safe, and welcoming after-school programme for primary-aged children. You will lead daily activities, manage the day-to-day operation, and provide guidance and support to the Wrap Around Care Assistant. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children and is ready to take on a leadership role.

What You'll Be Doing:



Leading and organising the after-school wrap around care sessions Creating an engaging, supportive environment for children Managing and supporting the Wrap Around Care Assistant Ensuring all safeguarding, health & safety, and school policies are followed Communicating effectively with parents, carers, and school staff Planning activities that promote play, learning, and well-being

What We're Looking For:



Level 2 or Level 3 Childcare or Playwork qualification (essential) Experience working with children in a school, childcare, or playwork setting Strong communication and leadership skills A friendly, positive, and proactive approach Good understanding of safeguarding and child protection Reliable, organised, and confident working independently

Hours



Part-time standard afternoons: Mon-Fri 15:00-18:00 This is a unique role that also provides an opportunity for the successful candidate to further their career in the Childcare/ Sports Coaching sector with the Sporting Influence business. These opportunities can be discussed at interview but would involve further hours and pay and professional development into the Sports Coaching area.

Competitive and based on experience

Holidays



25 days holiday per year plus bank holidays.

Person Specification/Essential Skills & Qualifications



Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Childcare or Playwork Experience working with children in a school, nursery, or playwork environment Strong organisational and leadership skills Confidence in managing small teams Good understanding of safeguarding and child protection Ability to plan and deliver engaging activities Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently

Desirable Skills & Experience



First Aid training Food hygiene training Experience managing a childcare setting or leading groups Behaviour management training or experience Knowledge of SEND support strategies DBS Safeguarding Training Full UK driving licence Experience in Arts and Crafts
