We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic After School Club Assistant/Play Worker to join our team, based at a school in South Derbyshire. This would be from September
The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and be level 3 qualified
As a Play Worker, you will create a safe, engaging, and stimulating environment for children to play and learn.
Your role will involve managing activities, promoting social skills, and ensuring the well-being of all children in your care.
This role is Monday to Friday, 7:30-9:00 and then 3.00 - 5.30 pm, during term time.
Hours could rise to 40 hours during school holidays, for our school holiday clubs.
Responsibilities
Supervise and engage with children during playtime, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
Communicate effectively with children, encouraging positive interactions and conflict resolution.
Manage behaviour by setting clear boundaries and expectations while fostering a supportive atmosphere.
Collaborate with other staff members to create an inclusive environment that caters to the diverse needs of all children.
Maintain accurate records of children's progress and any incidents that may occur during play sessions.
SkillS
Experience working with children in a childcare or educational setting is essential.
Strong leadership skills to effectively manage groups of children and guide them in activities.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, particularly in English.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being able to take initiative when required.
A nurturing attitude towards children, with the ability to inspire confidence and creativity in their play.
Level 3 Qualified in Childcare or willing to work towards it.
