Job Summary

We are looking for a caring, energetic, and motivated Play Worker to join our wrap-around care team. We're seeking someone who is passionate about supporting children's development and creating a fun, nurturing environment where every child feels safe, engaged, and valued. In this role, you'll help facilitate activities, encourage positive social interactions, and ensure the well-being of all children in your care.

Working Hours

Breakfast Club:

7:15am - 8:30am

After School Club:

2:45pm - 6:00pm

Total Weekly Hours:

22.5

Key Responsibilities

Supervise and interact with children during free play and organised activities. Plan and deliver age-appropriate activities that support physical, social, and emotional growth. Maintain a safe, welcoming environment and ensure children's well-being at all times. Build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues to foster a supportive community atmosphere. Promote positive behaviour, encouraging respect, kindness, and cooperation. Keep play areas and equipment clean, organised, and well-maintained. Encourage teamwork, confidence, and leadership skills through engaging play. Observe and record children's progress, sharing any concerns where appropriate.

Requirements

A qualification in Early Childhood Education or relevant experience (preferred). Strong English communication skills to effectively engage with children and parents. Previous experience in a nursery, school, or childcare setting is highly desirable. Confident in managing groups of children with a calm, positive, and supportive approach. Able to lead activities and motivate children to participate. Passionate about childcare, with a creative approach to play-based learning. Willingness to work flexibly to meet the needs of the programme.
