Position Summary:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated After School Club Assistant and/or Breakfast club to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in delivering both indoor and outdoor programs that align with our mission to foster children's holistic development. This role requires a passion for working with children, a love for nature, and the ability to create engaging, hands-on learning experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist in developing and implementing after school programs that promote holistic development and a love of learning.

- Facilitate dynamic, hands-on activities both indoors and outdoors, ensuring they are engaging and educational.

- Support a supportive and inclusive community environment for children, staff, and families.

- Assist in maintaining indoor and outdoor learning spaces and materials, ensuring a safe and engaging environment for children and encourage self risk assessment.

- Help monitor and assess children's progress and provide feedback to program leaders.

- Assist in planning and coordinating special events, trips, and community activities.

- Work collaboratively with educators, parents, and community members to enhance program effectiveness.

- Ensure children's safety and well-being during all activities.

Qualifications:

- 5 A*- C GCSE's or Equivalent (desired)

- Childcare qualifications including Level 2 or above (desire)

- Experience working with children in an educational or recreational setting.

- Strong understanding of child development and hands-on learning.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work collaboratively within a close-knit community.

- Passion for nature and commitment to fostering a love of the outdoors in children.

- First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).

- Ability to adapt and thrive in both indoor and outdoor environments.

- Food and Hygine Level 2 ( or willingness to obtain).

Preferred Qualifications:

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience and the ability to motivate students

- Familiarity with the EYFS (Desirable)

- Enhanced DBS check (will be required)

- Experience working with SEN students (Desirable)

- Qualifications in Early Years/ Education, Child Development, Environmental Science.

- Previous experience in an after school program or similar setting.

- Knowledge of local flora, fauna, and ecosystems.

- Experience with community outreach and engagement.
