Job Summary:

We are currently recruiting for a reliable and experienced Yard Operative to join an established manufacturing company in a rural area outside of Southampton -

must hold a valid Forklift Counterbalance licence

Full UK Driving license

This role will involve various tasks in relation to materials handling, relocating stock, receiving goods and loading/unloading vehicles to ensure that yard operations run efficiently.

Responsibilities:

Load and unload materials using appropriate equipment, including forklifts where qualified. Assist with shipping and receiving tasks, ensuring accurate documentation is checked along with the organisation of goods. Handle materials efficiently within the yard, always following Health & safety regulations. Operate warehouse management system to track item movements and stock levels. Support in organising the yard to be cleared for arriving and departing deliveries. Perform heavy lifting tasks safely, following proper manual handling procedures. Always maintain cleanliness and organisation of the yard area. Assist with inventory counts and stock replenishment as needed. Potential to assist in the workshop if required and if required to assist with any deliveries using a company vehicle.

Qualifications:

Previous experience in a warehouse/logistics environment or yard operations is preferred. A valid Counterbalance Forklift licence is a essential along with a full UK driving licence. Good understanding of material handling techniques and safety procedures. Basic maths skills for inventory and checking items both inbound and outbound. Physical fitness to perform heavy lifting and prolonged standing or walking throughout shifts. Good organisational skills with attention to detail in documentation.
This role will be under a 12-week temporary to permanent contract and is working on a day shift 45hrs per week Monday-Friday. Immediate start available after interview.
