Yard Assistant/Relief LGV Driver

Location: LBS Roofing, Swansea

We're looking for a reliable and hardworking

Yard Assistant / Relief LGV Driver

to join our friendly team at LBS Roofing Supplies based in Swansea. This is a hands-on role combining excellent customer service with practical yard and driving duties. You'll play an important part in keeping our yard running smoothly and ensuring our customers receive a first-class experience -- whether in person or through timely and safe deliveries.

What You'll Be Doing:

As a Relief LGV Driver, you'll play a key role in our delivery operations -- safely transporting goods to customers while ensuring excellent service and maintaining high standards on and off the road. When not driving, you'll also support branch and yard operations to help everything run smoothly.

Key Responsibilities:

Carry out daily vehicle checks and maintain accurate records. Deliver outstanding service to all customers, ensuring their needs are met quickly and professionally. Load and unload materials safely, accurately, and efficiently for customer collections, deliveries, and stock transfers. Support yard operations including stock control, order picking, and maintaining clean and organised work areas. Unload supplier deliveries, check materials for quality and quantity, and store goods correctly. Maintain stock accuracy and assist with regular stock takes. Adhere to all company Health & Safety policies, wearing appropriate PPE and operating equipment only when certified. Support branch security and housekeeping standards at all times. Comply with company policies and procedures and attend all required training.

We're looking for someone who is:

Customer-focused with a positive and helpful attitude. Able to work well within a team and communicate effectively. Physically fit and comfortable working in an outdoor environment. Detail-oriented with good organisational skills. Safety-conscious and responsible when operating vehicles or equipment. In possession of a valid LGV driving licence (and any relevant certificates such as forklift/Hiab crane operation would be an advantage).

Hours of Work: An average of 40.75 hours per week, Monday to Friday between 7.30am - 4.30pm, plus every other Saturday morning from 8.00am until 12.00pm.


Salary: 26,500 per annum
