About Us:

Deco-Pak is a market leader in supplying decorative aggregates and landscaping products to garden centres and retailers across the UK. We're known for our product quality, service reliability and commitment to safety and presentation. We're now looking for a Yard Foreman to take a hands-on leadership role in our busy outdoor yard operation.

The Role:

As Yard Foreman, you'll be responsible for ensuring that wagons are loaded and unloaded

efficiently,

safely and

accurately. You'll supervise other forklift drivers, check loads, improve & maintain yard

cleanliness

, and make sure every delivery leaves to a high standard. This is a key role, especially during our peak months.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the loading and unloading of wagons, making sure all orders are correct, secure, and handled with care. Operate a forklift truck as needed -- this is a hands-on role, not desk-based. Supervise and support other FLT drivers in the yard, ensuring

best practice

is followed. Check and sign off outgoing loads, including correct labelling, pallet condition, and product quality.

Maintain

a

clean and tidy

yard, including sweeping, clearing debris, and keeping walkways and stock areas safe. Enforce and promote

Health & Safety standards*, conducting checks and ensuring compliance with procedures.
Liaise with transport, production, and customer service teams to ensure smooth loading operations.

What We're Looking For:

Valid forklift license and confidence operating FLTs in a busy yard environment. Experience working in or supervising a builder's merchant, aggregate supplier, or similar outdoor materials environment. A practical, hands-on approach and a high attention to detail, especially when checking product quality and load presentation. Good communication skills -- able to lead by example and support other team members. A strong understanding of Health & Safety in the workplace. Any relevant training or certification is a bonus. Flexibility to work longer hours during peak season (March-July). Pride in keeping the yard clean, organised, and running smoothly.

Nice to Have (Not Essential):

Experience working at similar companies, builders merchants or other landscaping suppliers. Knowledge of decorative aggregates, paving, or similar product categories.
